For those hungry for love or in love with love-filled productions, the Sacramento Ballet offers a completely lovable performance in February from the 13th through the 16th. These "Wild Sweet Love" Valentine devoted performances are a triple billing consisting of three complete ballets "dedicated to love in all its complexities."

Wild Sweet Love will be performed at the Community Center Theater with three 7:30 p.m. performances and one final 2:00 p.m. performance with tickets available from $19 to $70 each. For this reasonable expense ballet lovers and Valentine dates can enjoy a series of professional ballet dances where "strength meets beauty ... and adds a dash of sexy, pinch of spice and season to taste" to create an "entrancing concoction of love in all its flavors." Due to the "athleticism of Ron Cunningham’s company of dancers," a full recipe of love will be leaping, lifting and gliding across the stage.

These February Sacramento Ballet performances will feature Wild Sweet Love with contemporary music from Queen to Roberta Flack and Lou Reed. This first piece depicts the "odyssey of a person moving through the variations of love, including loneliness, puppy love and the longing for love to the final universal experience of the basic need for human contact." The Wunderland piece features a dozen dancers in an exotic, erotic dance revealing the frustration of a couple deeply bound, though unable to connect. The third ballet is an original, interpretive piece and a world premier of Chinese choreographer Ma Cong, formerly with the National Ballet of China.

This triple treat is an unusual opportunity to experience a broad range of ballet performances focused on the various expressions and ideas of love. If you haven't already found a unique and memorable Valentine's Day gift for your beloved, an evening of "Wild Sweet Love" could be just the thing to heat up the romance and insure that extra kisses come your way. Ticket and performance schedule information is available by contacting the Community Center Theater Box Office at (916) 808-5181.

An additional evening of hot ballet is also being offered on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 7:00 p.m. with an in-studio event. "Red Hot Valentine" will take place at the Sacramento Ballet's rehearsal space and will feature excerpts from "Wild Sweet Love" with wine, cheese and desserts being served. Tickets are $25 each and are available at the Sacramento Ballet website here.
