Sabres' youngsters on doorstep of elimination

David Leggio must have felt like a Philadelphia Flyer goalie on Monday night.  The native of Williamsville was pulled early into the second period of Portland's 6-1 Game Four loss to Binghamton on Monday night in the AHL East Division Finals.

Jhonas Enroth, who some fans were calling for to start Game Four of the Sabres' series with the Flyers, came on and allowed two more goals on 19 shots as the wheels fell of for the Sabres' AHL affiliate.

In Enroth's only other game for Portland in these playoffs, he was dreadful, allowing four goals on 25 shots.  Granted, it's a small sample size, but Enroth's 3.69 goals-against average isn't exactly what you'd expect to see from somebody that some fans hoped would unseat last year's Vezina Trophy winner in Buffalo.

On a positive note, Luke Adam chipped in the lone goal for the Pirates.  Adam, who was the AHL Rookie of the Year, has three goals and three assists in ten games and leads Portland in PIMs (14) this postseason as well.

Fortunately for Pirates they have a quick turnaround and will try to extend the series to a Game Six, as they faceoff in Binghamton again on Tuesday night.
