On Monday, Feb. 25, Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced that the team had recalled defenseman Adam Pardy from the Rochester Americans, their AHL Affiliate.
The recall comes two days after Sabres defenseman Alex Sulzer left Saturday night’s game against the New York Islanders in the first period with an undisclosed lower body injury and did not return. Sulzer has been placed on injured reserve and Sabres coach Ron Rolston stated he will be out “a while.”
Sulzer has three goals and an assist with a plus-1 rating in 17 games this season.
Adam Pardy will join the Sabres for the second time this season, after having been previously recalled early in February, recording one assist in a game against the Ottawa Senators on Feb. 5 before being sent back to Rochester.
Pardy played 147 games with the Calgary Flames between 2008 and 2011, where he recorded four goals and 22 assists to go along with a plus-3 rating. He then played 36 games with the Stars last season, tallying 3 assists and a minus-5 rating.
The Sabres acquired Pardy along with Steve Ott from the Dallas Stars in exchange for Derek Roy on July 2, 2012. He then was sent to Rochester after the NHL Lockout was resolved in early January.
In 11 games this season with the Americans, Pardy has one goal and four assists for five points, and is rated a plus-1.
