Sabres on the road 2013: Washington Capitals

The Buffalo Sabres hit the road for an early-season match-up in our nation's capital, heading to Washington D.C. to face the Capitals on Sunday, January 27th at the Verizon Center (3 p.m. face-off). The Sabres return to the arena on Sunday, March 17th (7 p.m. face-off), while the Sabres host the Caps on Saturday, March 30th (7 p.m. face-off).

The Verizon Center, located at 601 F Street NW in downtown D.C., is not only home-base for the Caps, but also the NBA's Washington Wizards, the WNBA's Washington Mystics, and the Georgetown Hoyas men's college basketball program. The arena seats just over 18,000 spectators for hockey, and hosts more than 200 events each year - not only sports, but concerts, family entertainment, and horse shows.

The Verizon Center features 106 luxury suites, as well as the Captain Morgan Party Pavilion, which can host between 34 and 99 people. The Verizon Center is also home to Papa John’s pizza, Dunkin' Donuts, Hard Times Café and The Greene Turtle.
