The Tampa Bay Lightning was introduced into the National Hockey League for the 1992-93 season, along with the Ottawa Senators; Tampa Bay went on to win the Stanley Cup in 2004. The Lightning, also known to the fans as the Bolts, play their home games at the Tampa Bay Times Forum (known as the Ice Palace from 1996 to 2002). Located at 401 Channelside Dr. in Tampa, the arena seats over 19,200 spectators for hockey. In addition to the Lightning, the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League calls the Forum home.
The Tampa Bay Times Forum features a wide variety of concession stands throughout, including national franchises like Outback Steakhouse and Little Caesars Pizza. For sit-down dining, visit the Firestick Grill, open two hours before each Lightning game and featuring open fire action stations, soup, salad, sandwiches and desserts, plus the BACARDI OakHeart Bar and Lounge, which opens once each game or event begins.
Tickets for this season’s Sabres/Lightning match-ups are available at the Tampa Bay Times Forum Box Office or through www.ticketmaster.com; tickets start at $15 (plus taxes and fees).
