The Wild were founded and began play in 2000, replacing the Minnesota North Stars, who became the Dallas Stars in 1993. The Wild play their home games at the Xcel Energy Center, located at 199 Kellogg Blvd. W. in St. Paul. Also the home of the National Lacrosse League’s Minnesota Swarm, the arena has a seating capacity of more than 17,900, and hosts a number of hockey tournaments and concerts as well.
The arena has concessions run by Levy Restaurants as well as other dining choices: Headwaters Bar and Restaurant and Breakaway Carvery on the Club Level; Headwaters Express Carvery, with two locations in the arena; the Goal Line Eatery and Bar, with classic sandwiches, pasta and salads; and the Bud Light Fan Zone, featuring a wide variety of fan favorites plus 40 flat-screen TVs and full bar service.
Tickets for the upcoming Sabres/Wild match-up are available through www.ticketmaster.com; prices range from $34 to $240 (plus taxes and fees).
