The San Jose SaberCats defeated the visiting Pittsburgh Power 68-54 on their Arena Football League contest on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA. Huey Whittaker sealed the victory with his touchdown return off an interception with seconds left in the game.

The game was close all throughout. Both teams traded touchdowns in the first half with San Jose leading 33-28 at the halfway mark. The SaberCats stopped the Power in the first second half possession and were able to extend the lead to 40-28. Pittsburgh kept crawling back, however, to be within striking distance. At 54-41, San Jose's defense stopped Pittsburgh once again on downs, but instead of running away, the SaberCats fumbled the ball and allowed the Power to score to cut down the SaberCats lead to 54-48. Pittsburgh tied the game at 54-54 after returning an interception for a touchdown. San Jose, however, got the momentum back by scoring a late touchdown to take a 61-54 lead before Whittaker sealed the game for the final 68-54 score.

Quarterback Mitch Mustain, making his first career start, was 21-of-37 for 250 yards scoring six touchdowns and one interception.

The SaberCats improve to 8-3 on the season and will travel to play the Iowa Barnstormers on Saturday, June 15, 2013.
