Saab saved, for now

   2009 Saab 9-3

General Motors and sports-car maker Spyker have finally reached a deal that will allow Spyker to buy the Saab brand from GM.

According to Automotive News, Bloomberg News is reporting that Spyker will pay $74 million. That's on top of $326 million worth of shares in the new company, which will be called Saab Spyker Automobiles.

GM has been trying to sell Saab for a long time, and if the transaction goes through, it could save the brand from being shut down after twenty years of being controlled by General Motors.
