S.Pellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages unveiled two new flavors in an amazing first-of-its-kind installation at Eataly's La Scuola Grande in New York. Today on May 11, 2014 Examiner.com had the opportunity to interview Susmita Vellanki, Marketing Manager of International Brands at S.Pellegrino about the launch.

Tell us about the new flavors?

All Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages share a rich Italian heritage that began in 1932, offering sparkling refreshment made with natural ingredients. Clementina presents intense aromas of fruit with a clementine citrus finish; Melograno E Arancia combines a strong aroma of pomegranate with a delicate taste of orange to create a fresh tartness and a finish tending toward sweetness.

What inspired them?

The two new Sanpellegrino flavors Melograno e Arancia (Pomegranate and Orange) and Clementina (Clementine) were inspired by these authentic fruits of Italy. Due to these fruits' refreshing tastes, we thought Spring was a perfect time to unveil new flavors that truly embrace the bubbly, breezy, effortlessly easy lifestyle of Italy.

Why did you partner up with Eataly?

We partnered with Eataly because it is New York City’s gourmet Italian marketplace that demonstrates the unparalleled level of authentic Italian culture. Sanpellegrino Sparkling Beverages embody all the best qualities of Italy: sunshine, authenticity, taste and craftmanship, and Eataly does something similar: it immerses you in the Italian experience, the love of food, the passion for quality and a life well-lived, and is the perfect partner to allow us to introduce our new flavors to the world.

Speak about the new Sanpellegrino ad campaign.

To celebrate the new additions to the family, Sanpellegrino hosted a multi-day launch event at Eataly, New York’s gourmet Italian marketplace between April 26 and April 29. Visitors to Eataly were greeted with a lavish and fragrant floral installation festooning Eataly’s 23rd street entrance. Over the course of the four-day event, the art installation – which was designed by floral artists JC Floral Design Studio – gradually “blossomed” to reveal the two new Sanpellegrino Sparkling Fruit Beverages flavors.
