A S.C. courthouse shooting today left a woman and her stepfather injured. Reportedly, the courthouse shooting stemmed from a paternity disputing involving the suspect, Yahoo! reports. After the man opened fire in the courthouse, he fled and led police on a chase that spanned over 12 miles.
According to Sheriff Sam Parker, the suspect, 56-year-old Curtis Gorny, was at the Chesterfield County courthouse for a paternity test when he decided to start shooting. Gorny hit the suspected mother of his child, Olivia Weaver, 21, in the face and torso.
During the S.C. courthouse shooting, Weaver's stepfather, Donnie Nolan, was also injured. The victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No officers were injured in the pursuit of Gorny, but there have been reports that Gorny fired shots at deputies during the chase.
