Ryan Seacrest talks unpredictable 'American Idol' season

Ryan Seacrest is excited about the current season of "American Idol." Speaking out Thursday, Seacrest is really looking forward to the upcoming live shows.

"I'm excited. I love those live shows. The more of a circus, the more fun and the more interesting it can be," Seacrest shared with "Ellen" Thursday.

Admitting that they really have no idea what to expect, especially when it comes to judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, Seacrest thinks that is even more exciting.

"I have no idea what it's going to be like when we go live, which is exciting," Seacrest shares in video below. "There is, at times, tension between the two of them. I think now they're good. There will be moments that I'm sure we cannot predict."

Beyond the judging panel, which also includes Keith Urban and Randy Jackson, Seacrest says this season has got some really great talent, especially girls.

"There's some great talent. The girls are very good this year so the guys have got to step up. We've seen some incredible talent," Seacrest admits.

Live shows kick off later this Spring.

"American Idol" airs Wednesday and Thursday nights on FOX.
