Ryan Phillippe, 'True Blood's' Kevin Alejandro join Greg Berlanti CBS pilot

There are few pilots at the moment that are getting as much attention as the one from "Brothers & Sisters" creator Greg Berlanti over on CBS. It is a police drama (which certainly fits the network's profile), and there are also some rather big-name people being cast in the parts.

According to some new reports, actor Ryan Phillippe (who guest-starred on one season of "Damages" in addition to his film work) has been pegged to play the lead in this show -- which already cast Chi McBride from "Pushing Daisies" as his partner.

Meanwhile, "True Blood" alum Kevin Alejandro (who was once considered to replace Chris Meloni on "Law & Order: SVU") has been tapped to play the top detective in a police squad.
