Ryan Gossling talks to Jimmy Kimmel about giving fans Girl Scout cookies (Video)

Jimmy Kimmel finally got to the bottom of a story his friends have been passing around about Ryan Gossling for years. According to a Jan. 10 US Weekly Report, Kimmel asked Gossling about an incident involving Girl Scout cookies on the Jan. 9 episode of “Jimmy Kimmel: Live!” when the actor appeared to promote his new movie “Ganster.”

Jimmy said his friends were about to get on a freeway in Santa Monica when someone pulled up next to them and handed them several boxes of Girl Scout cookies and then drove off. His friends were convinced it was Ryan Gossling.

Ryan admitted that was indeed him. Gossling explained that he got overexcited when he saw some Girl Scouts selling cookies outside of the grocery store. Ryan used to help his dad sell products as a child and always wished someone would say, “I’ll take it all,” so he did just that for the girls.

Gossling didn’t know what to do with his car full of cookies so he started handing them out to people walking down the street and stopped in cars at traffic lights. Ryan said he started off feeling great about his generosity, but realized not everyone saw it that way. Gossling said,

“At the time I thought, 'This must be what Santa Claus feels like!' And then I looked at this one person who was looking at me and I realized, through their eyes I was not Santa Claus. I was just a creepy cookie guy. 'What happened to the Girl Scouts? What happened to their cookies?'"
