Ryan Gosling regretted face tattoo in new movie

It's no secret that many people that get questionable tattoos later regret them. The location and symbolism of the tattoo can lose their significance as the person gets older or circumstances change.Actor Ryan Gosling got a taste of this while filming his new movie, The Place Beyond the Pines. Luckily for him, his ink was temporary.

In the film (directed by Derek Cianfance and co-starring Eva Mendez, Bradley Cooper, and Ray Liotta) Gosling plays a motorcycle stunt rider who turns to a life of crime to support his girlfriend and young son. Gosling wanted the character to have a 'ridiculous amount of tattoos" and is covered with many temporary tats on his body; including a facial tattoo. Cianfrance originally didn't want Gosling to get the facial ink, but Gosling felt it would put the character over the top. On the first day of shooting her confirmed to Cianfrance that the tat was too much. The director's response? "Of course it is, but you're stuck with it."

The Place Beyond the Pines opens March 29th.
