Ryan Gosling bank robbery: Scene shot with real customers (Photos)

Ryan Gosling’s bank robbery scene was filmed in a real bank, in front of real customers. The actor plays a stuntman gone bad in his new movie, "The Place Beyond The Pines," and he winds up robbing a bank, reports MSN on Sunday, April 7.

This must be a fun film for the “Gangster Squad” star, who gets to ride motorcycles and stage a shootout in a real bank – even though any bullets fired were of the fake variety.

Ryan Gosling said of the bank robbery: “I'm there with a gun and I look down and people are just smiling. They were just enjoying the show and I think I spotted someone filming me on their camera phone as I robbed the place.” Which only goes to show the “audience” of bank customers was in on the joke. It would be too dangerous, otherwise, since the terror of being caught in a real bank heist could brink on heart attacks, hysterics or a lawsuit.

But the action must have looked real enough. The movie crew filmed the shootout inside an operating bank, filled with staff members and ordinary people, who dropped by to cash their paycheck, or whatever. Talk about method acting!
