Truth is Gosling and McAdams actually hated each other and had a really hard time working together at first. This new has shocked many fans who fell in love with being in love in the hit love story.
This news has many 'Notebook' fans stunned to hear that their favorite Notebook characters were not on good terms at all in the beginning. But what great acting, because for ten years now fans have all been fooled that it was love at first sight on and off the screen.
The Notebook director Nick Cassavetes revealed just how hard things were on the film set explaining,
"They were really not getting along one day on set. Really not. And Ryan came to me, and there's 150 people standing in this big scene, and he says, 'Nick come here,'" Cassavetes revealed. "And he's doing a scene with Rachel and he says, 'Would you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off camera with me?' I said, 'What?' He says, 'I can't. I can't do it with her. I'm just not getting anything from this.'"
Gloves were taken off and Gosling and McAdams were forced to settle their differences after directors forced them into a room together and made them work out their issues.
"We went into a room with a producer; they started screaming and yelling at each other," the director explained. "I walked out. At that point I was smoking cigarettes. I smoked a cigarette and everybody came out like, 'All right let's do this.' And it got better after that, you know? They had it out& I think Ryan respected her for standing up for her character and Rachel was happy to get that out in the open.
"The rest of the film wasn't smooth sailing, but it was smoother sailing," he added.
A job well done, because not only did Ryan and Rachel settle their on screen differences they actually found out they really did actually dig each other and began dating in real life.
The relationship between the two lasted for a few years and was an on again-off again affair before ending once more.
Ryan is currently linked to celebrity Eva Mendes and Rachel has been reportedly dating Jake Gyllenhaal, but it has been rumored over the past few weeks that Ryan has started realizing his feelings for Rachel are not quite over and that the two could allegedly end up back together one day in the near future.
This news has not been confirmed and is purely speculated most likely by hopeful Notebook fans who want nothing more than to see their favorite on screen lovers together again off screen.
Do you think Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams will eventually get back together in the future or is this just wishful thinking for Notebook fans?
