Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are having a baby together, and she is reportedly due to give birth in September 2014. OK! magazine first reported the news on July 9, 2014. "Access Hollywood" also confirmed the news. This will be the first child for Gosling and Mendes.

Gosling (who is 33) and Mendes (who is 40) have been an on-again/off-again couple since 2011. Mendes and Gosling co-starred in the 2013 movie "The Place Beyond the Pines," and Mendes is in the 2014 movie "The Lost River," which is Gosling's debut as a director. Gosling and Mendes have never been married.

For years, Mendes said in interviews that she never wanted to get married or have kids. But according to OK!, she has now had a change of heart and wants Gosling to marry her. However, Gosling is no rush to get married, according to an unnamed source who talked to OK!

The source said, “Ryan doesn’t think they need to marry just because they are having a baby, but Eva believes it’s important to have their lives fully intertwined.” The source also said, "She’s been ready for motherhood for a while now, and to be sharing this experience with Ryan is a dream come true for her!”

In 2008, Mendes spent time in rehab for undisclosed reasons.

In "The Place Beyond the Pines," Gosling and Mendes play former lovers who have a child together. Gosling's character begins robbing banks to pay for child support.

"Lost River" is about a single mom (played by Christina Hendricks) who goes to work at a strange nightclub, where the star dancer (played by Eva Mendes) simulates disfiguration. "Lost River" had its world premiere at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, where the movie got mostly negative reviews.

Gosling had this to say about "Lost River" in his blog: “I wanted to make this film because it’s a movie that I would want to see. Like many children who grew up in the 1980s, I first approached the cinema through mainstream films. I was excited to shoot this kind of story, but with the language of filmmaker that I’ve acquired through the years.”
