Rutgers junior Logan Ryan has announced his intention to enter the 2013 NFL Draft. Ryan is the fifth Scarlet Knight to leave school early joining Ray Rice, Kenny Britt, Anthony Davis and Mohamed Sanu. Ryan is projected to be drafted in the second round as of now.

Ryan finished his last season with 17 passes defended, four interceptions and 94 tackles. He became an All-Big East First Team selection after the season. He was a second team member last season after finishing with 67 tackles and three interceptions.

Ryan’s departure adds another loss to a Rutgers defense that finished fifth in the country in points allowed. The team is already losing starters like Scott Vallone, Khaseem Greene, Duron Harmon, Steve Beauharnais and Brandon Jones. Marvin Booker and Ka’Lial Glaud are also graduating.

Ryan entered Rutgers as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com. They also ranked him as the ninth best player in the state of New Jersey and the 32nd cornerback in the nation in 2009. Ryan played his high school ball at Voorhees Eastern.
