Ryan Blaney turned in a lap time of 23.148 seconds (136.081 mph) during the second of two-rounds of NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying at Iowa Speedway in Newton on Saturday evening to claim the pole starting spot for Saturday's Get To Know Newton 250. It's his first-career Nationwide pole. Blaney will be joined on the front row by Sam Hornish Jr., who was second fastest in the second round with a lap time of 23.151 seconds (136.063 mph).

Brendan Gaughan posted the fastest lap time of 40 drivers who made qualifying attempts in round one. Gaughan's round one lap of record clocked in at 23.232 seconds/135.589 mph. Brian Scott and Landon Cassill were second and third in the first round. With 40 drivers posting times in qualifying, all who made qualifying attempts garnered spots on the race starting grid.

The fastest 12 drivers from round one advanced to round two to battle for the top-12 starting spots. Qualifying third through 12th were Michael McDowell, Regan Smith, Dylan Kwasniewski, Chase Elliott, Scott, Elliott Sadler, Cassill, Gaughan, Chris Buescher and Chase Pistone.

Worth noting -- Kwasniewski moved over to the No. 42 car normally driven by Kyle Larson, as Larson remained in Charlotte because of Sprint Cup Series obligations. This week, Pistone is in the No. 31 car normally driven by Kwasniewski.
