Award-winning Americana rocker Ryan Bingham will make a stop in Des Moines on Tuesday, March 19, when he plays Wooly's in the East Village. The doors at Wooly's will open at 7 p.m., and the music will start at 8 p.m. Another roots group, honeyhoney, will open the show. Tickets for the concert are $22 in advance and $25 the day of the show. Tickets may be purchased at the Wooly's box office or online through Ticketfly. This will be a 16-and-over concert event.
Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Ryan Bingham was already a critically-acclaimed roots music success when he was asked to collaborate with Grammy-winning producer T-Bone Burnett on the soundtrack for the 2009 acclaimed film Crazy Heart. However, Bingham's success really sky-rocketed after the movie's release. Bingham work on the soundtrack earned him a Grammy, an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a Critic's Choice Award, a Las Vegas Film Critics Society Award, an International Press Academy Satellite Award, and a World Soundtrack Award. You can watch the video from the soundtrack's biggest hit, "The Weary Kind", below.
After Crazy Heart, Bingham's next two albums, 2010's Junky Star and 2012's Tomorrowland, soared up the charts. Junky Star reached #2 on the Country chart, #19 on the Billboard 200, and #8 on the Rock chart. Tomorrowland climbed to #7 on the country chart, #8 on the Indie chart, #16 on the Rock chart, and #36 on the Billboard 200. See what everyone is talking about next Tuesday at Wooly's.
