RV sites at Circuit of the Americas to carry $15,000 price tag (Photos)

The Austin, Texas-based Circuit of the Americas has announced that they will be offering seventy-eight 23’ x 53’ trackside RV sites - situated on the straightaway between Turn Eleven and Turn Twelve – for a hefty annual payment of $15,000 per spot - with the option to own the spot for a 2 or 3 year term. Somewhat surprisingly this not insubstantial chunk of change will only secure your RV spot for 4 motor races each year.

The motorhome and travel trailer lots will consist of a standard concrete slab and adjoining grassed area along with water and power hookups. The site package also includes 8 tickets for each race weekend - allowing ticketholders to stay in the RV spot overnight - along with a first right of refusal to purchase spots to extra motorsports events. In addition, RVers will receive priority access to purchasing parking (parking for one additional car or truck per RV space), access to Fan Comfort Zone (wash room, rest room, laundry), priority access for the purchase of General Admission race tickets and tickets to concerts/other events and the ability to pre-purchase catered food from Sodexo for the entire race weekend.

Designed by Hermann Tilke and billed as the first purpose-built Grand Prix facility in the United States the 20-turn, 3.4-mile (5.516 km) Circuit of the Americas – who have a ten year contract with Formula 1 Management Limited (FOM) - will play host to the 2012 Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix™ which opens with team practice on Friday, November 16 and culminates with the F1 race on Sunday, November 18.
