Taylor Lautner, who recently sued a California RV dealer for breach of contract, may have to put his muscles to use to settle the contentious lawsuit.
Brent McMahon, who owns McMahon's RV of Irvine, Calif., has offered to settle the litigation with the 18-year-old Twilight hunk with a good old-fashioned push-up contest. Whoever does the most push-ups wins.
In a press conference Aug. 30, McMahon, 47, promised that if he won against the buff Lautner, he'll donate $40,000 to a children's charity.
"We're taking a negative and making it into a positive to benefit the sick children at Children's Hospital of Orange County," McMahon said, adding that other sponsors have agreed to chip in if Lautner appears at the push-up showdown.
Earlier this month, Taylor sued McMahon's RV, claiming the dealership failed to deliver a customized trailer to him by their agreed-upon deadline of June 21. Lautner had intended to use the trailer on the Pittsburgh, Pa., set of his new film Abduction (which he spent July and August shooting).
McMahon and his attorney claim Taylor and his dad Dan (who negotiated the RV contract) demanded $40,000 to settle the dispute. When McMahon refused to pay up, Lautner filed suit.
When asked about McMahon's chances of beating the super-fit Lautner, McMahon's attorney joked: "He works out regularly, but he's a 47-year-old man. He's no Taylor Lautner."
Meanwhile, Taylor will soon reunite with his Twilight co-stars Kellan Lutz and Robert Pattinson to begin rehearsals and fight-training for Breaking Dawn.
