Rutgers-Newark vs. TCNJ women's basketball preview

The TCNJ women’s basketball team is looking for another win.

And they are hoping that being back in New Jersey will change things for them. The Lions will travel to North Jersey to face Rutgers-Newark at 6 pm.

This is also the final game at home for Rutgers-Newark, before they head to Kean University on Wednesday night. This is their fourth straight home game at the Golden Dome.

They are currently 2-1 at home in this home stretch. They are 7-1 overall at home with the only loss coming against Baruch College on December 15th, 2012. Rutgers-Newark lost 73-67 in that game.

The Lions are 3-3 on the road this season, and have been on the road since December 15th. They are 2-2 in that stretch coming into this game.

They won the first two games of the road trip. They won at Stevens Tech on December 15th, and then beat the Apprentice School in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, hosted by York (PA) College.

They beat Stevens Tech by 9 points. And beat the Apprentice School by 22 points.

They have lost their past two games by a combined 9 points. They lost to York (PA) College by 8 points, and then lost to Delaware Valley College by a point.

The Lions return home for the first time in nearly a month as they take on Montclair State at 6 pm. They Lions are a perfect 3-0 at home.

Rutgers-Newark won by 6 points over Hunter College in the first game of their two-game win streak. Then, they would go on to blowout York(NY) College by 38 points.

Jade Howard leads the Rutgers-Newark scoring attack with 11.6 points per game. She is followed by Laura Shakiri and Jewell Palmer, who are both averaging 11.3 points per game.

Kelly Roddy leads the Lions scoring attack with 8.4 points per game. Kelly Coughlin and Tiffany DeTulio are both averaging 8.1 points per game.
