The hit song that penetrated the airwaves in 2013 has now penetrated the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

Performing a cover of ‘Get Lucky’ by Daft Punk and Pharrell, the Russian police choir gave it their all at the Fisht Olympic Stadium. It was a great rendition, however; some of the members of the choir didn’t sing along. Some even looked extremely uncomfortable. Maybe they just didn’t know the words.

Formally known as the Ministry of Internal Affairs Choir, the Russian police dressed up in green uniforms during the televised performance Friday night.

With several reports of safety concerns for our fellow Americans in Russia, it’s ironic that an American Dance song was selected to open the ceremony. Either way, the crowd was pleased with the performance.

One can only guess that their next performance will be at the Super Bowl next year. As we all know, stranger things have happened.
