Russian Foreign Ministry echoes Obama's warning to Kiev protesters

With the fires still burning at the barricades in Kiev, the Russian Foreign Minister issued a stern warning to the Ukrainian protesters that closely resembles what Barack Obama recently stated in Mexico, as reported by The Daily Star (of Beirut, Lebanon) on Feb. 21, 2014, and The Washington Post on Feb. 19, 2013.

While in a joint press conference with Mexican President Enrique Pena-Nieto in the Mexico City suburb of Toluca. the American Chief Executive gave his thoughts on the unrest in the Ukraine:

We've also said we expect peaceful protesters to remain peaceful and we’ll be monitoring very closely the situation.

Literally in the same breath, Obama failed to specify who he meant by "people" if he was referring to either government troops or the protesters themselves, as well as the definition of "over the line":

Recognizing that with our European partners and the international community there will be consequences if people step over the line.

Within 48 hours, the office of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov released a statement that in the course of his emergency meeting with the European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, the protesters are the ones to blame for the unrest:

[The Minister] has decisively denounced the activities of radicals who bear the full responsibility for the violence and human casualties and urged the EU and its member-states to clearly express rejection of these activities.
