US cruisers see an onboard ship disaster as an illness breakout, or the occasional rough seas. In other countries it is a diferent story.
Russia has suffered yet another cruise ship disaster, as earlier this week a fire broke out aboard a three deck Moscow based river cruise ship, the Sergei Abramov, and engulfed the vessel. Four people were burned and one crew member remains missing. The ship was doced at Moscow's Northern Port.
According to Cruise Law News, the fire was caused by defective wiring. Their story is linked here.
There have been multiple reports of accidents with Russian river cruise ships in recent memory.
