Russell Wilson is a popular guy these days. Now only has been on a slew of talk shows before reporting to spring training, but the Super Bowl winning quarterback has been in the news as a potential participant on "Dancing with the Stars." According to Access Hollywood via the Seattle Times on March 1, although the former Seattle Seahawks quarterback joined the big dance in terms of football, he is not going to appear on the ABC reality show that puts dancing in the forefront.
Russell Wilson, who confided in Access Hollywood that he had been made the offer to compete on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" not once, but twice had to put that idea on the sidelines.
Wilson said, "I need to focus on my football career right now."
The 25-year-old athlete from Ohio who says he is a fan of "DWTS" added, "I'm trying to do as much as I can in terms of winning football games for the Seattle Seahawks and our franchise. But I will do it at some point, for sure."
However, Russell Wilson, who has said on a number of occasions that he wants to own an NFL team, did make a promise regarding "Dancing with the Stars."
The football star stated, "I'm gonna do ['DWTS'] at some point."
