Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder edge the Mavericks 107-101

On Sunday, March 17 in Dallas, Texas, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Dallas Mavericks by a score of 107-101.

Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook lead the team with 35 points on 13-23 shooting while adding six assists and six rebounds. Westbrook also hit a go-ahead with 1 minute left to secure the victory.

Star forward Kevin Durant scored 19 of his 31 points in a big fourth quarter to help matters.

Durant is presently leading the lead in scoring at 28.3 points per game as the season inches closer to the playoffs.

The Mavericks were led by veteran forward Dirk Nowitzki, who dropped in 23 points, but it wasn’t enough to steal the victory.

With the win, the Thunder improved their record to 50-17, as they are just one game away from first place in the Western Conference. The San Antonio Spurs presently lead the pack with a 51-16 mark.

As for the Mavericks, they fall to 31-35 and it continues to look like they won’t be making the playoffs at all this year unless they go on a late season run.
