Those Russell Crowe dating rumors that recently popped up involving Dita Von Teese appear to have been debunked by the movie star himself. Crowe recently used one of everyone's favorite method of updating the masses, Twitter, to say the two are just friends.
As reported by Yahoo! Lifestyle on Jan. 15, rumors that Crowe and the burlesque dancer were a couple heated up after the New York Post reported the two were spotted together at Four Seasons Hotel. Apparently, Crowe and Dita von Teese were getting a "romantic couple's message at 6:30 a.m." which would certainly cause many to think there was romantic interest between the two. However, that doesn't appear to be the case, or Russell is trying to throw the gossipers off.
Crowe recently tweeted his stance on their 'relationship' which said:
"@DitaVonTeese is brave, smart, sweet and elegant. She is a friend of mine. Who wouldn't want friends like that? Friends, not lovers"
Crowe, who currently stars in the hit film "Les Miserables," has previously noted his admiration for the burlesque dancer on Twitter. He's retweeted several of her racier tweets including one that joked "Giving airport security a lesson in garter belts this morning." However, that doesn't really indicate the two were a couple. Then again, Rihanna and Chris Brown retweet each other, right?
Dita von Teese, a 40-year-old burlesque dancer, was previously married to singer Marilyn Manson. She's appeared in a guest role on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" in 2011, and has also made self-appearances on reality television shows, "America's Next Top Model," and "RuPaul's Drag Race."
