Rush Limbaugh announced that he is, for the first time in his adult life, ashamed of America. This he said in response to President Obama's unconcealed demagoguery and flip-flopping over the Sequester. Having demanded Republicans put sequestration of the military and Medicare on the table in order to force “both sides to negotiate the federal budget,” Obama now threatens to initiate the cuts unless Republicans yield to his demands.
Last year he said he would absolutely veto any attempt to stop these cuts from being put into effect. During the election campaign he swore they absolutely would not take effect. Now he is saying that instituting them will destroy all government services right down to the local fire and police protection and teachers, even though sequestration is only about cutting the military and Medicare. His solution to the doom he claims is looming is that Republicans agree to more tax increases and that he give up none of his massive, multi-trillion dollar deficit spending. It is time Republicans pushed a leader to the fore who would call Obama’s bluff!
Obama says Sequester is America’s doom
Such deliberate fear-mongering combined with Obama’s sunshine and lollipop promises is what conservatives have come to expect from our narcissistic president and Blamer-in-Chief. Conservatives have been ashamed of the country since such an obvious, no-nothing panderer was elected and ten times more so when he was re-elected following four years of economic and cultural destruction. Obama loves to speak in grandiose terms, always referring to budget in ten year terms. While the Sequester will harm the military and Medicare, it will not affect the Obama deficit nor the Obama recession.
All Obama has to do is say the Sequester will not take effect. Instead he is demanding Republicans raise taxes again or else, damning them if they do or don't. This is demagogic pandering, fear-mongering, and demonizing at its worst. And when Republicans call them out on it, they are met will catcalls of derision and mockery. Obama’s Alinskyite nature continues to cast a pall over the nation with his claims that Republicans want to starve children.
