On his Tuesday show, with a remark that is outlandish even by conservative talk show host reality, Rush Limbaugh took a caller who said the local police investigating the bus assault said the attack was not racially motivated. Rush responded:
“I think the guy’s wrong. I think not only it was racism, it was justifiable racism. I mean, that’s the lesson we’re being taught here today. Kid shouldn’t have been on the bus anyway. We need segregated buses — it was invading space and stuff. This is Obama’s America.”
On Wednesday’s show Limbaugh said: “In Obama’s America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering, ‘Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on,” Limbaugh said. “I wonder if Obama’s going to come to come to the defense of the assailants the way he did his friend Skip Gates up there at Harvard.”
“White Americans are racists who have created what they call free markets that really just enslave the rest of America and her trading partners,” Limbaugh also mocked. “I mean, it was white Americans that ran off Van Jones. No, look, let’s just follow Eric Holder’s advice and not be cowards about all this. Let’s have an open conversation, an honest conversation about all of our typical white grandmothers. You had one, I had one. Obama had one. They’re racists just like our students are. ACORN — hey, nothing but racism fueling the pursuit of ACORN.”
Limbaugh went on to suggest that racism is acceptable:
“If homosexuality being inborn is what makes it acceptable, why does racism being inborn not make racism acceptable?” the talk show host asked. “I’m sorry — I mean, this is the way my mind works. But apparently now we don’t choose racism, we just are racists. We are born that way. We don’t choose it. So shouldn’t it be acceptable, excuse — this is according to the way the left thinks about things.”

I think segregation would work... I stay out of the dangerous parts of town all on my own.
Um, Limbaugh isn't advocating segregation. Rather, he's using sarcasm towards an article by Newsweek which said racism is an inborn trait from birth. Limbaugh, mocking the article's view, concludes that IF per chance racism were inborn as Newsweek says, then it would be both natural and excusable, just like homosexuality. Moreover, if racism were inborn, then the black kids were just doing what they needed to do in beating up a natural-born racist white boy. Pay more attention, Marci Stone.
I think rush is an idiot. Blacks have suffered from racism every since being brought here in chains. What the heck does he know about racism, ive never heard of white peole being lynch, there is no black kkk. He is just being his racist self.
I don't know about segregation, but I can tell you that if that had been a black kid surrounded by white kids getting a beating it would have been a "hate crime" and all those white kids would be in jail right now.
Limbaugh has always been the master of making people feel comfortable about their prejudices. His desciples are in need of permission.
What a turd.
Please stop giving Limbaugh the time of day. He's a worthless gas-bag who gives credence to humanity's worst. When we stop repeating what he says (no matter the context), he and his ilk will become less and less relevant.
First off, the entire incident on the bus was not about race, but about seating. Jabba the Hut just couldn't contain his seething hatred of blacks anymore. It is finally dawning to a large part of the ignorant public and media that, "wow, maybe there ARE still racists out there." Duh, ya think? Unfortunately, they can be included in a legion of rightie commentators and legislators. Just because we elected a black president doesn't mean there are a LOT of knuckle-dragging racists out there. Yes, on both sides, but the GOP has a long legacy of being the biggest racists and they still hold on to that low reputation. Denial doesn't cut it. Sorry.
When Limbaugh takes the facts and mixes in a bit of sarcasm and let's it fly in the face of the liberal pontificators and propagandist they have a "hissy". Thank God for the first amendment and Rush. Not only is Limbaugh sardonic diatribes made of intellectual gems faceted by reality but they reveal the ugly truth of the deceptive nature of our socialist regime and its attempts to brand position rather than face an honest debate.Liberals are cowards!
Shemika gets it: the majority of you are mudwrestling with demons of your own imagination.
what exactly does Rush bring to the table?
Racism in America exists, but mostly in the minds of white liberals. It's not 1864 anymore, you knuckleheads. Get your heads out of your rears.
Did any of you commentators actually listen to Rush say this? The sarcasm was so thick you could cut it with a knife. He was trying to make a point. Epistemology people. Figure out how you know what you know, before making a rash judgment.
Apparently, sarcasm is how Neocons justify racist remarks these days. And we're just not smart enough to 'get it'. I see. Hmm, conservatives are small minded, bigoted, closet homosexual a-holes, but fear not folks, I am only being sarcastic, right?
Ignorant, Ignorant, IGNORANT!! Can't you recognize sarcasm Marci? Rush has never and I mean NEVER advocated segregation. He is philosophically, morally, and ethically repulsed by racism. Which is PRECISELY why, when NEWSWEEK publishes an article that says people are BORN with racism, when the liberal left keep crying out that "ALL IS RACISM" if we disagree with a president who happens to be black (such as what Carter recently stated), then Rush is just gonna joke about. He's gonna say, "OK then, hmmm I guess we're all supposed to be retarded about this huh? I guess we just have all the excuse to not use our brains because Newsweek said so. I guess if we follow what Newsweek said to its logical conclusion then we probably need segregated buses. Well at least Newsweek would seem to imply so, right?"
I know it's hard to connect the dots sometimes cuz you just want to hear what you want, but please! Why can't "journalists" analyze anthing with a measure of insight?
The point is Alvy, IF Rush truly believed in segregation and truly believed in racism, then I would be behind you 100 percent. If he was just sarcastically enjoying being racist then that would definitely be low. In that case I would dismiss anything he had to say about anything. BUT if the whole point of his satirical rant is just to show how STUPID racism and segregation are and how IDIOTIC Newsweek is for saying we are "born that way", THEN what do you say? What then? If his intention is to underscore the immaturity of racism, then why should the left complain? Have an open mind! It might surprise you to learn how Rush really thinks. If you haven't listened to him in the context of him mocking the silly philosiphies that are out there, you will misunderstand and take the "supposed comments" by Newsweek as being his own.
All people have to do is read the transcript on his site and of course he's not calling for segregation. Jimmy Carter's comments along with Nancy Pelosi do far more of a disservice because they play on emotion and ignore the real issues of government overspending and controls over industry. As the father of a multi-racial family, racism is being pushed and pushed as an excuse not to talk about the real problems at hand.
Rush takes a sarcastic tone when portraying his view of LIBERALS. His whole segregation diatribe was his "liberal" voice speaking. He was using the liberal illogic that is foisted upon us every day by the unbelievably biased media to convince us that true is false and false is true. Telling you that Limbaugh really wants segregation is just another in a long line of falsehoods being twisted as a truth. I view this as a sign of success in our long running battle to prove to the American people that the mainstream media are no longer reporters, they are repeaters.
Remember Annie Le! Segregate white males from Asian females first!
I was just wondering if it was too much to ask to have the writers of these articles actually research the topics they write on. I'm just curious why a little light never went off in the head of this author that it doesn't quite sound right that the highest rated radio talk show host with 21 million listeners would actually be calling for segregation in 2009. Never crossed the mind that this just doesn't sound right, never thought to check a little deeper, like reading the entire transcript or better yet listening to the audio where only Helen Keller could miss the sarcasm.
Instead, we suffer through an article that does nothing except to misinform its audience.
