To say that Ron Paul stands out among the other Republican presidential candidates is an understatement. While his views on limiting the federal government are universally acccepted among conservatives, it's his foreign policy that has people on the right pulling their hair out. Paul wants us to cut defense spending and bring as many troops home as possible which is normally something you hear on the left of the political spectrum, not on the right.
Infamous radio host and staunch conservative, Rush Limbaugh, has made it known his thoughts about Ron Paul. While Ron Paul's son, Rand Paul, was detained by TSA agents at an airport this week, Limbaugh thought it would make more sense to detain his father instead.
Rush Limbaugh: “Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul has been detained by the TSA at the Nashville airport....Now if this had been Ron Paul, you couldn’t really blame the TSA...You have to admit Ron Paul almost sounds like an Islamic terrorist sometimes”
Now Ron Paul's domestic views are dangerous for the country, push more into poverty and leave millions with nothing to hold to as well as his questionable past dealing with possible racism, but the one area that Paul shouldn't be criticized is his foreign policy of cutting defense spending and bringing the troops home. What Limbaugh and people on the "right" have a problem with is what they should be cheering. Republicans seem to be out of touch with America and is a party that has taken a hard right turn over the years. Ron Paul might be a lot of things and many of them are negative, but if you are going to be critical of him you should pick something other than the one thing he has right.
