Rush Limbaugh ponders Satan's son: Would he look like Obama? (Video)

Conservative rabble rouser and radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh will go just about anywhere -- figuratively -- if it means he can skewer President Obama, and it appears that on Monday, he even took an imagined look-see into the big smoking photo album of El Diablo himself. Mediaite reported Monday (March 18) that he didn't waste any time bringing up the hot topic, either. Limbaugh said that even before going on the air, it was a question on "everyone's mind" at his studio: "If Satan had a son, would he look like the guy in that?”

"The guy in that" happened to be the actor that played Satan in the History Channel's hit mini-series "The Bible." Once the man's image hit the small screen, it was only minutes before social media became flooded with comparisons between Satan in "The Bible" and President Obama. Buzzfeed picked up on it at 10:59 p.m. (EST) and ran with it, posting a still photo of a hooded Satan (actor Mehdi Ouazzani) and several postings from Twitter making comments about the resemblance.

Limbaugh said it was "uncanny" how much the actor looked like President Obama and called the man a "dead-ringer" for the president. After noting that the producers of the mini-series, "Survivor" producer Mark Burnett and Roma Downey (his wife), were saying that any similarity was a "ridiculous" comparison, he pointed out that “there are people out there who are very much enjoying” making that very comparison.

People like Rush Limbaugh?

"It does look very, very, very much like a figure we see daily in Washington, D.C.,” he said.

Of course, this was all just build-up for Limbaugh. The conservative talk show host went straight to Hades and back for his fun.

Telling his audience he and his producers had talked about the Satan-Obama comparison prior to going on the air, he wondered aloud, "... in light of that picture — and only in light of that picture… we have nothing to do with distributing that picture… the question that sprang to everyone’s mind is: If Satan had a son, would he look like the guy in that?”

The implication: Obama is not Satan per se, but Satan incarnate, Satan's son. Sort of like Jesus Christ being the son of God. In a dualist approach to Christianity, there are those that interpret the anti-Christ in just this manner.

Of course that's the kind of question that would spring to a mind like Limbaugh's. The guy just can't help himself, what with having to deal with such a narrow, dark, and hateful thinking space. Still, to be fair, the hooded Mehdi Ouazzani did look like a little older, more severe-visaged Barack Obama. It isn't as if it would take a great deal of imagination to find a resemblance.

In fact, to someone that constantly extols the evils of President Obama, it is highly doubtful Limbaught had that far to go anyway. The image of Obama as Satan -- or as the anti-Christ -- has undoubtedly been presiding in Rush Limbaugh's mind for years. "The Bible" just gave him an excuse to say what he's been thinking.
