The phrase, “Rush Limbaugh ‘left has won’” has become a top trending topic on major search engines this week, Yahoo! Upcoming News reported this Saturday, Feb. 23, after the conservative talk show host wanted to clarify his controversial comment this week, saying he was “ashamed.” Limbaugh went on to state he’s not necessarily ashamed of America or President Obama, but the “liberal direction” the U.S. seems to be headed toward.
The radio host sparked a big controversy this Thursday after saying, “For the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my country.” This Friday, Rush Limbaugh clarified to his new and old listeners about his comment and its meaning.
“I realize that many of you tuned in today wanting to hear more of this,” said the host on the Rush Limbaugh ‘left has won’ issue. “You wanted to hear more about it, and I haven’t really discussed it yet and you’re probably angry, and I want to tell you why.”
Limbaugh clarified that he isn’t ashamed of himself or his conservative views, despite some in politics reportedly thinking that is what the host may have been hinting. Instead, he noted that the “liberal direction” America and its current government has taken despite trying to inform the people has been most frustrating.
“They have created far more low-information, unaware, uneducated people than we’ve been able to keep up with. We’ve had a profound impact in improving, increasing that universe of people — citizens — who are in the arena of ideas now, who are informed and educated. I’ve always had a Civics 101 view of the country: People get what they want, they vote what they want, and they get the way they vote.”
Rush Limbaugh went on in a similar fashion, yet seemed “defeated by the left,” said the report.
“I’m just fed up with it … I can’t do it anymore. The whole thing is shamefully absurd. I don’t know how else to say it.”
