Rush Limbaugh ashamed: ‘My days of getting roped in to all this are over’

Rush Limbaugh said on Thursday that for the first time in his life he is ashamed of the United States, according to a Feb. 21 Mediaite report. “Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my country,” Limbaugh told his listeners during his radio program.

Limbaugh’s “shame” stems from the going fiscal issues facing the government and declares that he will no longer be “roped into” the government’s “manufactured” crises surrounding spending cuts. “To be watching all of this…to have our common sense and intelligence insulted the way it’s being is — it just makes me ashamed.”

According to Politico, Limbaugh’s comments come at a time when President Barack Obama and fellow democrats “are warning Americans about what they say will happen if Congress doesn’t avert sequestration, the automatic $1.2 trillion in federal spending cuts over the next decade that are scheduled to take effect March 1.”

The frustrated commentator noted, “My days of getting roped in to all this are over,” as he blamed the media for its repetitive narrative. “Here they come sucking us in, roping us in, panic here, fear there, crisis, destruction, no meat inspection, no cops, no teachers, no firefighters, no air traffic control,” Limbaugh said.
