Rush Clockwork Angels comic book series arriving in March

Rush fans who loved the loved the legendary Canuck prog-rockers' 2012 "Clockwork Angels" studio album, tour and novelization can now look forward to an upcoming comic book series.

According to an article posted Dec. 11 at USAToday.com, the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will launch a new graphic novel series based on the critically acclaimed concept album in March with the unveiling of the six-issue Boom! Studios miniseries "Clockwork Angels."

Co-created by Rush lyricist/drummer Neil Peart and "Clockwork Angels: The Novel" author Kevin J. Anderson, the series follows the coming-of-age story of a naïve youngster in a turn-of-the-century world of airborne steam liners, pirates, carnivals, working alchemy and wind-up contraptions.

Last month, the iconic Toronto power trio released a live DVD/Blu-ray/CD, titled "Rush: Clockwork Angels Tour." which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Music Video chart for the week of Dec. 7.

The release contains three hours of concert footage from shows filmed during the Toronto natives' hugely successful 2012 Clockwork Angels tour on Nov. 28 in Dallas, Texas.
