Randi Rupp threw a one-hitter and the Barbers Hill Lady Eagles cruised past the Crosby Lady Cougars 6-0 on Friday night, March 21, 2014, in Crosby.
Barbers Hill scored an unearned run in the first to open the scoring and it was all Rupp would need. The senior right-hander struck out 16 including seven of the first nine batters.
Barbers Hill added to their run total in the third scoring two more unearned runs.
In the sixth, Sarah Barker hit the first pitch she saw from Crosby right-hander Abby Walker over the right field fence for a three run shot scoring Krista Sessions and Breagan Hamilton ahead of her.
A double by Crosby catcher Ariel Clogston broke up the no-hit bid in the seventh and Alexis Balderram drew a two out walk for the Lady Cougars only baserunners of the night.
The loss snapped Crosby’s seven game win streak and kept Barbers Hill undefeated in District 19-4A play.
