Last Sunday alone dozens of cars were seen, by this Examiner, being driven off on tow trucks while other vehicles sat with $90+ tickets stuck to the windshield, also awaiting tow trucks. Your LA Travel Examiner, a Hollywood Hills resident, is a frequent hiker on Runyon Canyon and has tried in vain to warn offenders who blatantly park under the ‘No Parking” signs. Last week we attempted to save a young couple who disregarded the signs that their car could be ticketed and towed. When warned of the consequences, they just shrugged us off and walked away. Well, needless to report, they got ticketed and towed.

In a few days more streets in that area will be rezoned for no parking, so unless you feel flush and don’t mind paying hundreds of dollars to get your car out of the impound or the $90+ ticket, don’t park in restricted areas.

Naturally this is no good news for the throngs of hikers who utilize Runyon Canyon Park, one of the most popular and scenic of Los Angeles’ recreation areas. However due to too much congestion and cars parked sloppily—some sticking out in the road—the city found it necessary to crack down.

Consider this a public service message and don’t be foolish, it isn’t fun to walk back to your vehicle after a vigorous trek only to discover it’s not there. If you don’t believe me check out one blogger’s $300 hour-long Runyon Canyon hike.

It truly is a God's country-like place to park as shown by the video we selected for your viewing pleasure.
