If you are looking for a local race to benefit local families, then July 26 will be a great day for you! At England/Idlewild Park in Burlington, Kentucky, there is a 5K Run/Walk to support four local families preparing to travel overseas to bring home their adoptive children. These families have recently received notification of their new family additions and though all information is final, they are just waiting to go pickup these darling gems from all over the world, and runner support will help. Local Forman, Johnson and Rice families are bringing home their second adoption and Ms. Willis is bringing home her first daughter.

On July 26 the race will start at 8:30am, with packet pickup and race day registration available at the park from 7:30 to 8:15. If you do pre-register and would like to pick up your packet earlier in the week, they will be available Thursday the 24th at Mike’s Mailboxes and More, from 10am-5pm, 5760 Constitution Pike, in Florence. They will also be available Friday the 25th at TriState Running Company, 10am-7pm, 148 Barnwood Drive, Edgewood. The race organizers have also noted on the website to any supporters who feel that this is a generous cause and they cannot make it to the race, tax-free donations and t-shirt sales are available online at www.runningforhome.org, where you may also follow the link to the registration website or download the mail-in registration form, due by July 18.

Please feel free to take a look at the stories of these beautiful families adopting their children from places like Haiti, China and Korea. They are all making a wonderful contribution to children who deserve to be brought over to this wonderful nation into caring and generous homes. Come and enjoy a wonderful race!
