RuneScape player owned ports: Strategy for starting out in bowl (jade) region

In RuneScape, players who unlock the bowl (jade) region will experience a furthering of the paradigm shift as the voyages get longer and crews get more experienced. This RuneScape player owned ports guide elaborates early jade zone strategies.

Upon entering the bowl, RuneScape players are no longer able to complete all 15 voyages without having to focus on lower regions. Some lower resources, such as cherry wood and bamboo may still be needed, and can be sought.

Be sure to sail all ships overnight after jade, as jade missions are at least seven hours in length. Adventurer storylines can be saved for later as port goods adventurer missions offer a key boost in jade. Scroll and trade goods missions offer a dilemma, forcing the RuneSacpe player to choose between them. It will probably take several days to accrue the jade needed for a full crew.

If it is a Thursday, be sure the focus is set to the bowl and then seek the barmaid's tip voyage by asking the bartender for gossip. That voyage, a seemingly daunting 5,800 in all three stats, can be sailed with a decent chance of success, as it rewards 800 jade in one shot. Even a partial success will bring in a sizeable amount of jade.

Spend the first roughly 3,000 jade in hiring morale, combat, and seafaring crew. Train these; one jade voyage is sufficient for them to level to or past level 6-7 scythe crew. For every jade crewman able to hire, dismiss a scythe one.

If Crescent Isle shows up, save it for later on your available voyages tab. Judges of dice require 1,000 jade each to buy. However, as they are rare, players will want to sail that voyage sooner rather than later, and save judges of dice on available crew interface.

Flip through unusable jade voyages for better completion odds, trade goods, or crescent isle, or focus on lower regions, rather than waste voyages altogether. Also flip through crew unless all three slots are occupied by jade level crew you want.

Soon, the crew will be filled and crescent isle discovered. At this point, the RuneScape player should be done with the early part of the jade region.
