RuneScape players entering the scythe can hire a new set of crew members who start out at about the same bonus as a good leveled crew from the last region. This RuneScape player owned ports guide focuses on the crew available in the scythe region.
RuneScape players will find that cherry wood voyages take considerably longer, but should have the use of their third ship at this point. Generally, a voyage provides enough wood to hire a crewman.
Card sharps start with 750 morale. Crow's nest snipers start with 750 combat. Cartographers start with 750 seafaring. These should be added as they spawn in crew rolls, until there are 2-4 of each.
Explosives experts grant 2,000 speed. RuneScape players who have speed crewmembers from earlier regions may find their speed boost to still be sufficient.
Merchants in the scythe give 25% boost in goods and are useful on easier scythe missions, as well as any slate and bamboo regrinds for items needed for upgrades.
Cherrywood golems start with stats comparable to the feral chimera of the hook region, and will die in place of a crewmember.
Bureaucrats cost 500 slate, but grant 75 bonus to each stat of each crewmember. As they have higher stats,m they should be hired in place of eastern overseers.
RuneScape players who have completed the wind's home voyage can hire sea witches. Sea witches are rare and should be hired/retained as they surface. Sea witches combine the seafaring of a cartographer and the morale of an eastern bannerman.
