RuneScape players need to obtain resources in order to hire crew, upgrade their ship, and upgrade buildings in the port. The resources needed for crew and ships generally are obtained while unlocking the zone, the port buildings often require gaining the resources while in later regions. This RuneScape player owned ports guide focuses on gathering bamboo.
Bamboo is obtained from arc voyages primarily, and can be saved by smart expenditures. If a gunpowder upgrade is open, a bamboo upgrade might not be even necessary. Also, hiring crew, it may be better to hire skull crew without expending bamboo at all.
Bamboo will accumulate as the black marketer sometimes carries it in his stock daily. This is unreliable, but will add up over time.
Bamboo voyages occasionally show up when trying to focus on other regions. These can be done between gaps in sailing longer voyages, and the bamboo will add up over time.
Of the 15 voyages, RuneScape players can "carry over" the three displayed into the next day. Thus, as long as all voyages except three are either sailing or done, none will be lost. If there is not enough time to complete in cherry wood or slate voyages, then they can be used in the arc for bamboo instead of wasted. Be careful to switch the focus back, lest you run out of voyages.
By accumulating the bamboo that comes, and sailing on bamboo on busy days in place of wasting voyages, it is possible to get the bamboo needed for the third ship and other upgrades without having to go out of one's way to sail in the arc for it on a good day.
