RuneScape has made live the voting for the return of 2007 servers to the game. In the Feb. 15, 2013 update, the polls are live and every RuneScape member is eligible to vote once for each account.
RuneScape will provide increasing levels of support for these servers based on player interest. To gage this interest, the official poll is being released.
The release of the old school 2007 server poll shows that Jagex realizes that a lot of RuneScape players were happy with the old system of combat and either went along with or reluctantly went with, the evolution of combat, having no other really viable choice.
In addition, 2007 was seen as the golden age of RuneScape, mostly due to players unhappy with the wilderness and free trade being removed. The return of wilderness and free trade in 2011 somewhat eased that, but other updates such as micro-transactions rubbed a lot of old school RuneScape players bad.
With that being said, now is the opportunity for all RuneScape players, regardless of their opinion, to vote and allow all RuneScape players to have an alternative option so as to be better able to experience RuneScape. To vote in the official poll, click here.
