RuneScape elder kiln quest, final waves battle and conclusion

RuneScape players doing Elder Kiln quest who get to the seven waves will need to prepare for a fight. This elder kiln quest guide details this part and the conclusion. See the main page for related guides.

Pack a full inventory of food, at least three prayer potions, and the champion’s tokkul. Bring a weapon such as polypore staff or a ranged weapon as well if you are meleeing. The waves come one after another; the only way to rest is to safe the last creature of the previous wave.

The terrain allows safespotting. In the lower right, there is an L-shaped wall that offers the ability to safespot the monsters.

Wave one starts with two level 100 melee and a level 160 ranged. Pray ranged and take it out, then dismiss the meleers. With enough prayer potions, you will find it better to pray to reduce damage; damage piles fast when attacked by all three types of combat. Switch to magic.

Wave two consists of melee, ranged and magic; one each. Attack and pray against the one that attacks you; if both the ranged and magic attack then pray magic and take out the mage. The mage also uses melee when up close; the best tactic is to click, strike, and quickly click away to prevent it from using melee. Ranged damage adds up, so switch to ranged and dismiss the ranger next.

Wave three has two rangers and the mage. Attack and pray against what is after you; if the mage attacks then dismiss it first as described before.

Wave four has a ranger, a mage, and two melee. Deal with this wave the same way as wave two. Safe spotting the melee while you dispatch the others reduces damage.

Wave five is two melee one ranged one mage, but this time one of the melee is level 180. Safe this and deal with the others, or dispatch whatever is attacking you.

Wave six has 2 mages, a ranger, and a melee. This wave is difficult. Try to safespot them using the L-shaped wall and hopefully lure them to you one at a time. Have auto retaliate off so to stay in the safe spot. In my battle, I got the ranger to go forwards so only he could attack. After dispatching him with polypore staff, the next target was to kill the melee while praying magic. Then it was a matter of killing the mages without being attacked.

Wave seven is the mage, the ranger, and the champion. The champion spawned in the safespot between the inside of the L-shape and the edge of the area in my fight, allowing the dispatching of the ranger and mage. Then it was a matter of killing the champion. Magic and ranged work poorly; it is best to melee the champion. Because his attack can drain prayer, RuneScape players should attack and step away to reduce amounts of attacks, while praying melee; especially if near a wall. On killing him, talk to the NPC that appears and ask him to help. Go through a cutscene Exit and retrace back, but make sure health is high as NPC’s attack after each chat dialogue n your way back. Return to the entrance, meet at the marketplace, and complete the quest.
