Evening wear designer Rita Vinieris kicked things off at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Her stunning gowns, in soft mineral tones, combined hints of gray, graphite and rose color gold.
Models strutted the runway with effortless elegance, which is how Vinieris designed her debut evening wear collection. “My collection focuses on bias cuts and simplicity of shape. Lingerie-inspired construction, allows the gowns to skim and flow over the body. It’s really about gentle motion.”
Vinieris is no stranger to designing fabulous gowns. She spent 17 years designing bridal gowns. Another trademark of her line is the use of organic ornamentation and manipulation of scale to create her sumptuous textures. Patinas are used to enhance the depth and richness of her creations.
Rita Vinieris says her designs are for the modern woman on the go. “My look is for the purist modern woman, who is a confident fashionista, but wants to be timeless yet fashionable at the same time. And, she has a little bit of edge to her.”
Trending for Fall 2013: the ease of garments, not structured, it’s about having an ease and relaxation with any garment that you are wearing. Does that sound familiar?
Rundown on the Runway will continue throughout Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center!
