Run/walk for Laura David, ovarian cancer research

Laura's Smile Mile Foundation will be hosting its annual Smile Mile Run at Veteran's Park, in Milwaukee, Saturday, June 4. The event starts at 8 a.m., but organizers recommend showing up early.

Organizers were on-set of Today's TMJ 4 “Live at Daybreak” to be interviewed. WTMJ's Jeff Gallagher reported on the NBC affiliates website:

Each year, more than 20,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and a local group is striving to bring awareness to the deadly disease. Laura's Smile Mile Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, June 4th at Veteran's Park in Milwaukee.

The Milwaukee Examiner recently spoke to Mark David, Laura's husband, after a benefit for The David's. “We are just so thankful to all the people that showed up to support Laura. We hope to see a lot of people at the run/walk this year.”

Mark, fighting back emotions, continued, “It's all about the community helping neighbors. We are so blessed with such wonderful friends. I'm constantly amazed and will forever be greatful to those who care for us.”

As a loved one of a family member who suffered and lost her battle with ovarian cancer, I make a personal "ask" that you please join the hundred's of people that will be present at this event.
