Run for the Seals event for walkers, race-walkers, and runners

It doesn’t get much more beautiful than this – walking or running along the Marin Headlands as part of the Run for the Seals benefit. On Saturday, March 12, 2011, you have a great opportunity to enjoy this picturesque setting while helping Marine Mammal Center raise some much-needed funds. All proceeds from this event will go to help sick, injured, or orphaned marine mammals.

This year marks the 27th anniversary of this fun event and is dedicated to Silent Knight, the Sausalito sea lion that was shot and blinded and is now in Marine Mammal Center’s care. Individuals or teams can sign up for either the 2 or 4 mile run. Last year more than over 1000 people (and dogs!) of all ages participated; this year, you can join the fun by registering here

Last year, 5% of entrants also entered as fundraising participants, Marine Mammal Center is hoping to increase this percentage. To that end, they are offering some great incentives: to individuals raising over $5,000, the chance to win Two Tickets to the Men's US Open Tennis Finals in New York, and to any team raising over $5,000, the chance to win 10 tickets to the Giants Opening Night & World Series Ring Ceremony baseball game in April 2011.
