In conjunction with the Lubbock Arts Festival, the West Texas Running Club will host their annual Run for the Arts on Saturday, April 12that the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. This race includes a 1-mile kids fun run, a 2 mile and a 15k option. Kids 4 through 15 are eligible for the fun run, 7 and older are eligible for the 2 mile and 16 and older are eligible for the 15k. Cost for all races is $20 for running club members and kids under 15 and $30 for all others. Registration includes a technical race shirt. Online registration runs through Wednesday, April 6th at 6pm. Late registration will be available for $35 at packet pickup on Friday, April 11th from 11am to 5pm (location to be determined). There will be no race day registration but packets can be picked up on race day prior to 7:30am.
The fun run will begin 8am with the 2 mile and 15k starting at 8:30am. Due to kids being on the roads, all participants are asked to be parked prior to 8am. Plus these kids really enjoy your support as they finish!
The 1 mile course is a flat loop course around the Civic Center. Parents can run with their children without registering themselves. The 2 mile course is a flat out and back course downtown. The 15k is an out and back course with several hills. This course includes parts of Broadway, Mackenzie Park and Mae Simmons Park.
Due to the size of this event, volunteers are very important for both race day and packet pickup.
