Ready or not, the holidays are almost upon us! If you’re still in the process of making plans for Turkey Day, consider making tracks at a local Turkey Trot before partaking in your usual feast with friends and family.
Not only will trotting jump-start your metabolism, but the exercise will help relieve holiday stress and give you a jumping off-point for setting goals to challenge yourself in the New Year. And if that’s not enough motivation, most Turkey Trots support local non-profit organizations, such as food banks, schools and community programs, so it’s a great way to give back while getting in a little pre-holiday workout.
Here’s a list of a few Bay Area Turkey Trots for 2012, but if you’re travelling or live outside of San Francisco, check out sites such as Active to find one near you.
