It is a perfect time of the year to recognize their partners who were given grants of over $830,000.00 by The Rumsfeld Foundation for their support of active military, Veterans, their families and the honoring of fallen military personnel and their families. These partners provide a wide array of services to include rehabilitation, mentorship, scholarships, counseling and daily necessities for our troops who are on deployment around the world.
The organizations who received the grants are some of the nations’ best which include and are not limited to “The Mission Continues, who support the fellowships of wounded and disabled veterans serving in their communities, The Travis Manion Foundation, who honors our fallen and promote service to our communities and country, Homes for Our Troops, to support their efforts of gathering funds, laborers and the materials to assist them in building new handicap accessible homes or to make their current homes more suitable for the service members who return with severe disabilities and Rivers of Recovery, who use outdoor adventures and activities to assist with the therapeutic needs of veterans.
Don and Joyce Rumsfeld were noted as making the following comments about the recent grants and the organizations who received them; “We are deeply grateful for the service of our troops and their families. It is an honor for our foundation to partner with these fine organizations that provide critical support to our service members and their families and give back to those who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
The Rumsfeld Foundation, established in 2007, rewards leadership and public service at home and supports the growth of free political and free economic systems abroad with four main focus areas; supporting charities benefiting men and women of the U.S. Military and their families, graduate fellowships for students interested in public service, building linkages between young leaders from the Greater Central Asia to the U.S. and Global Finance.
